“SOLD OUT” signs loom for England Tests

Demand for the BLACKCAPS Test series against England is breaking box-office records. Sales for the three Tests have been unprecedented, dwarfing those leading up to last summer’s series against Australia.

Seddon Park is attracting healthy interest with a high volume of sales over the first and second day. NZC Marketing and Communications GM Stacey Geraghty said, in terms of tickets sold, the overall demand for the series was three times stronger than for last summer’s Tests, and the strongest for at least a decade.

“We’ve sold about 30,000 tickets in the first week of sales compared to 10,000 at this point last summer,” said Ms Geraghty.

“Our message is to get in quick to avoid disappointment.

“We’ve been tracking rising interest in BLACKCAPS fixtures over the past couple of years but things have really spiked for this series.”

Ms Geraghty said full venues helped create a special atmosphere for the teams and the fans. “With more full-houses in store, Kiwi fans will get to enjoy the game-day experience and all the drama and excitement an England series provides".

Fans can purchase adult tickets at 15 percent discount by joining NZC’s free members club, Cricket Nation.

Note: Day five Test tickets are only released if required at the end of the fourth day.
