FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ launch immersive tournament-themed classroom education programme

FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 has launched its interactive and immersive classroom education programme for primary and intermediate aged students, Beyond The Pitch www.FIFA.com/beyondthepitch.

Aligned with the Aotearoa New Zealand curriculum, the educational hub includes a range of tournament-themed lesson plans designed around the FIFA values of Diversity, Excellence, Equality, Passion, Respect, Authenticity and aligns with the Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, Personal Health and Development, and Technology curricula.

Built in collaboration with New Zealand Football and Sport New Zealand, Beyond The Pitch sits alongside Sport New Zealand’s ‘In Our Backyard’ educational project, in the *Kōtuitui learning module.

The FIFA Beyond The Pitch hub includes a range of tournament-themed lessons and workshops, as well as an excursion section for teachers to arrange outside the classroom experiences by attending a match or a FIFA Fan Festival. *Kōtuitui is a learning module developed by New Zealand Football and Sport NZ as part of Sport NZ’s ‘In Our Backyard’, a platform which supports students to learn through sport on the back of New Zealand hosting major sporting events. Kōtuitui is available to schools and kura across Aotearoa New Zealand to deliver during either term 2, 3 or 4 this year as the country hosts the FIFA Women's World Cup 2023™.
